Y For Kids Who Have Been Hurt Y

What happened to you was not your fault, and everyone who Loves you will understand that.

Adults are in charge in this world. They decide for themselves what they will and won’t do. When they choose to hurt people, they don’t get to blame the people they hurt. It was their choice, and they have to take responsibility for what they did.

There are a lot of People who Love you and want to help you --- even people you haven’t met yet! If you haven’t told anyone you have been hurt, do it. Tell the adult in your life that you trust the most: one of your parents, a favorite aunt or uncle or grandparent, your favorite teacher, your principal, a neighbor…

The people who hurt children try to scare the children into not telling anyone "their secret." Often, they tell the children that they (the children) will get in trouble if they tell. This is not true. The people you tell will tell other people, who can help you and protect you. We want you to be safe.

Please tell us – the Good Adults in your life – so we can help you and keep it from happening again.
