Every day, 12 children are murdered2
Child Abuse and Neglect costs the United States
$65,753,424.70
every day, or $24 Billion annually.
And,
believe it or not, this is the conservative estimate.3
Every breathing adult who
reads this can do something
to Protect Children.
It
doesn't have to take up all of your time,
or all of your money.
It doesn't have to be depressingly overwhelming.

involved.
SMAC'M was started in 2005 by a Single Mother who had seen too
many children around her hurt, and murdered, by child molesters.
She was unable to keep the organization afloat financially, and
was forced to return to her career. However, she continues
to keep this website up, detailing the programs she tried to
start, in the hopes that other individuals and organizations may
make them a reality.

The direct cost of child abuse and
neglect in the United States totals more than $24 billion annually.
(This figure includes law enforcement, judicial system, child
welfare, and mental and physical health costs.) When factoring in
indirect costs (special education, mental health and health care,
juvenile delinquency, lost productivity, and adult criminality), the
figure rises to more than $94 billion annually.
